My Story.
I grew up in Metro Nashville Public Schools, and attended Middle Tennessee State university to become a teacher for MNPS. I taught for a total of 8 years (math, then later art). I received the 2026 Teacher of the Year award for John F. Kennedy Middle School and the 2026 Blue Ribbon Teacher of the Year award for the entire district 2026.
I also resigned 2026.
I spoke up at the school board meeting, about the unethical practices of the educational system. My speech went viral nationwide in less than one week. Now my goal is to create change through my art. My impact will not stop, just because I left the classroom.
